12/17/2006 :There was a general membership meeting held at the Century Sportsman's Club in Auburn with a fursale to follow. The meeting went very well with
a fantastic turn out. Topics discussed at the meeting ranged from
donations to needy organizations to memberships to awards. The end
result was money being donated to the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine and
the MassSportsman's Council, the addition of a Junior Membership for kids under the age of 16, Free 1 year membership for graduates of a trappers education course, and a supporting membership for
non-trappers and conservation enthusiasts. Also, Tom and Irene Hayes
were voted to receive Massachusetts Trappers Association's first
Honorary Lifetime Membership award. Following the meeting, due to poor
participation of attending fur buyers, the Massachusetts Trappers
Association was voted by the membership to make an offer on the fur.

was a Trappers Education seminar held at Georgetown Rod and Gun club in
Georgetown, Massachusetts. There were 47 in attendance, with
all students passing. There appeared to be a 50/50 mix of recreational
trappers and Problem Animal Control agents. Two young men chose to take
advantage of our '1 yr. free membership to teenage graduates'. A
fantastic demonstration was given by our Furbearer Biologist, Colleen
Olfenbuttel. And we were also pleased to see Tara Wooley, a
MassWildlife Wildlife Tech. also in the course. A Board of Directors
Meeting followed.Also, the November Trapper and Predator Caller will be making it's way to your doors in the next week. We apologize for the incorrect Executive and B.O.D. information at the top, as well as the incorrect membership information in the Association News Section. Also, there was an error in the 'Letter from the President' with regards to the website address. These were not errors on our part, and are currently being addressed with hopes that these errors will not repeat themselves in the December issue. 9/10/2006 :Annual Fall Outing and Membership Meeting! Outing was a huge success with
lots of fun. The raffle was particularly enjoyed by all, as donations
were handed out as tickets were drawn. A wonderful demonstration was
given by Richard Nelson of Vermont on beaver trapping with conibears, and other methods, and the annual meeting which took place in the morning resulted in the election of the new members of the executive committee, as well as the appointments of the regional directors. The luncheon was a great hit, with
mooseburgers, potato salad, watermelon, chips, cookies, brownies and
more being enjoyed by all. The location was beautiful, the weather was
perfect, and the company was fantastic. 7/10/2006 :Board of directors meeting was held at the U.S. Fisheries and Wildlife in Hadley, MA for the purpose of determining a date, time and location for the annual meeting.
